What We Offer
Agricultural Valuations
We use honey bees as livestock for agriculture tax valuation. We provide bees, boxes/hives, labor, and maintenance for properties ranging from 5 to 20 acres in Williamson County and surrounding counties in Texas.
Honey Bee Removal
We safely remove bees and wax from homes, businesses, sheds, barns and water meters, ensuring they’re relocated to a safe environment. We are committed to rescuing and rehoming bees.
Honey Sales
Enjoy our locally sourced honey, available in 1/2 lb. to 5 lb. bottles. Call us to place your order and taste the difference.
Hive Sales
We offer 5-frame nucleus (nuc) hives as well as 8-, and 10-frame Langstroth hives, including Langstroth long-bar hives with bees, perfect for starting or expanding your apiary.
Consultations
We will come to your apiary and provide educational sessions on beekeeping and increasing your apiary, equipping you with the skills needed for successful hive management.

We use Italian hybrid bees, known for their docile nature and ease of handling. Our honey is a testament to purity—never filtered, only strained, and never heated above 110 degrees, preserving its natural flavor and nutrients.
During removals, we meticulously clear wax from occupied spaces, insulate voids, and seal all entry points to prevent bees from returning.
In our consultations and training, we collaborate closely with customers, guiding them on proper hive inspections, hive growth, and maintenance strategies to ensure thriving colonies.
Who We Are
POPPERS SHOPPE – HONEY, BEES & HIVES is owned by Jim Ray, affectionately known as Poppers by his grandkids. Poppers has been beekeeping for over 13 years.
We managed 15 hives in the 1990s, but had to pause due to work travel. In 2016, a friend sought help with removing hives from several water meters, which reignited our passion for beekeeping. We also launched an agricultural valuation service.
Jim is registered with the Texas Apiary Inspection Service and is a member of the Williamson County Area Beekeepers Association and the Texas Beekeepers Association.
