Beekeeping Consultations and Maintenance

If you’ve purchased bees and equipment but feel overwhelmed, don’t have the time, or have decided beekeeping isn’t for you, turn to POPPERS SHOPPE – HONEY, BEES & HIVES. We offer beekeeping consultations and maintenance in Georgetown, TX.

The Responsibility of Beekeeping

Owning and maintaining honey bee hives requires commitment. Globalization has introduced pests like the VARROA DESTRUCTOR mite and the SMALL HIVE BEETLE, which have been major factors in Colony Collapse Disorder during 2006 to 2007 and 2024 to 2025. Proper management is essential to mitigate these threats.

Personalized Consultations

Our consultations are available at $75 per hour, plus round-trip mileage. We’ll collaborate with you to inspect each colony individually, assessing their health and seasonal stage. We’ll discuss actions needed to ensure they thrive. If your bees require feeding, equalization, or treatment for mites and beetles, you’ll need to cover the cost of these services.

Subscription Maintenance Services

Our maintenance can be set up through a subscription service, starting with an initial consultation to assess bee colony health. This includes monthly inspections and reports detailing colony status. Pricing depends on hive numbers, accessibility, travel distance, and contract length. You will be responsible for treatment, feed, and hive box costs.
